Rec Climbs

Climbing in a park near you!

Picture
“Thank you so much! It’s the best class the Park & Rec has added!"
Park/Recreation Climbs (Rec Climbs) allow you the opportunity to climb into tall and mature trees using rope and saddle, under the watchful eye of a tree climbing adventure guide.

No experience is necessary & all equipment and instruction is provided.

We keep it simple for you. We handle the safety inspections and provide all the gear so you can focus on the tree climbing experience.

Rec Climbs are offered through municipal Park & Recreation Departments, advertised in their Activity Guides, and held in their beautiful parks,

Participants pre-register directly with the host community's Rec Dept. Each Rec Dept sets their own fee structure, refund policy, and may
cap upper age paramter.

You will receive an email from us in the days ahead of your climb with details related to your day in the trees.

Some climbers enjoy the challenge of standing on branches, which involves working through the transition between balance and using the leverage and support of the climbing line.
Have you climbed with us previously? Are you interested in a new experience or progressing to the next level?
 - OPEN CLIMBS - Climb in new trees outside of your community for a fresh climbing experience, including smaller group size and a hammock in the branches.

 - OPEN-ADVANCED CLIMBS - Climb our favorite trees, develop your climbing skills, learn new techniques, and have more time with our tree climbing adventure guides.

 - LEARN-TO-CLIMB CLASSES - Learn to climb trees on your own!

We do not cover the intricacies involved in technical tree climbing during Rec Climbs. Participants are only shown how to ascend & descend under the direction of a professionally trained and experienced tree climbing facilitator. Tree climbing exposes participants to inherent hazards and risks. If you want to learn how climb on your own, check out our Learn-to-Climb training classes.

Treetop Explorer procedures comply with the facilitated tree climbing guidelines put forth by the Global Organization of Tree Climbers. Our lead facilitators are recognized by the GOTC.
