Open Enrollment Climbs (Open Climbs) allow you the opportunity to experience climbing tall trees like the professionals, using rope and saddle under the watchful eye of a tree climbing adventure guide.
Experience the thrill of lying in a hammock high up in the branches, exclusively at Open & Open-Advanced Climbs! No experience is necessary & all equipment and instruction is provided. We keep it simple...we handle the safety inspections and provide the gear and guidance so you can enjoy the tree climbing experience. Register directly with Treetop Explorer through our online store. On-site registration may be available if climber capacity has not been reached. These climbs differ from our Rec Climbs in that they have lower capacity (climber to facilitator/rope ratio) and the hammock in the branches adds another element of challenge and relaxation. No experience necessary for Open Climbs.
We provide all equipment & instruction. Enrollment is open to climbers 7yrs of age & older adults, individuals, families All you need to do is register, then show up with a sense of adventure!

*Waukesha County Parks charge a $7/vehicle park entrance fee - NOT included in registration fee. Payable directly to County Parks. Purchase park entry pass at www.waukeshacounty.gov (we recommend waiting until day of your climb)

EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING:
Treetop Explorer, LLC provides all of the equipment and gear necessary to enjoy recreational tree climbing. All equipment is inspected prior to each event, and double checked with each climber. Participants will want to wear closed-toe, sturdy-soled shoes. Long pants help protect legs from scrapes against the bark and chafing from the harness. Gloves and safety glasses are available for climbers, but participants can bring their own. |
RESTRICTIONS:
- Minimum age is 7 yrs old. No upper age limit. - Individuals unable to follow safety procedures or suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted to climb. FEES:
Listed price above is per participant. Tax charged at time of purchase. There is an additional cost for climbs in Waukesha County Parks as they charge a vehicle entry fee when entering their parks (even if just dropping off). This fee is not included in your registration and payable directly to Waukesha County Parks - unless you have an Annual Park Pass. |
We do not cover the intricacies involved in technical tree climbing during Open Climbs. Participants are only shown how to ascend & descend under the direction of a professionally trained and experienced tree climbing facilitator. Tree climbing exposes participants to inherent hazards and risks. If you want to learn how climb on your own, check out our Learn-to-Climb training classes.
Treetop Explorer procedures comply with the facilitated tree climbing guidelines put forth by the Global Organization of Tree Climbers. Our lead facilitators are recognized by the GOTC.
